Sunbury-Sharon E. Kurtz, 75, of 705 Market Street, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 430 Catawissa Ave., Sunbury, with her family by her side, after her battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on January 4, 1949 in Huntington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Morgan) Irvin. Sharon grew up on Sugar Run Road in Mill Hall, PA. She attended school at Bald Eagle Nittany, Mill Hall, PA. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville and later at Leader Nursing Home, Sunbury.
February 15, 1969, Sharon married her husband Bernard D. Kutz, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church, Sunbury.
Sharon is survived by a daughter, Karen Brouse and her husband Marc of Sunbury; a son, Richard Kurtz and his wife Kelly of Northumberland; two grandsons, Brett Reed and his wife Kelsea and Colton Reed and his wife Micaela; three granddaughters, Jordan Reed, Sydney Kurtz and Baylee Kurtz; two great grandson, Carson Reed and Parker Reed; five great granddaughters, Clara Reed, Leah Reed, Ella Kantz, Maci Kantz and Elektra Wolfe; two brothers, Bill Irvin of Lock Haven, David Irvin of Mill Hall; two sisters, Linda Lundy and her husband Lyle of Williamsport, Theresa Irvin of TX; and many nieces nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Sharon was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Irvin, Jr.
Sharon enjoyed going to the casino and playing her scratch off tickets. She loved her family whole heartedly and enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grand babies.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Gotlob- Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service, 539 Race Street, Sunbury, PA., James R. Gotlob, Supervisor. Viewing will be held at 5:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will be private at Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury, where she will be next to her husband. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gotlob-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service, 539 Race Street, Sunbury, PA 17801, all donations will be distributed to help the residents of Scott Towers, where Sharon resided for 26 years.
